TDI Extended Range diver
Between 24 and 28 May 2009, in the beautiful resort Aiguablava Spanish (Girona), Costa Brava, I attended the TDI Extended Range course organized by GymSub Aiguablava / Nautitraccion Barcelona: a course very interesting, challenging it with extreme demands from natural gas to liquids physics and heavy gear.
The sea status and weather condition were offset and makes difficult (but not impossible) to achieve depth -55m depth where the beauty of everything worth the effort!
Scafandru apnee FEDAS nivel 2
IBetween days 21 to 24 May 2009 I had the great pleasure to attend my first course of apnea / diving with one lung breathing. Location: Portinatx / Ibiza (Spain).
The course was organized and led by Eva Gomez (Spainish Recordmen 2008 - Dynamic Apnea) and Mani Kolb (Instructor FEDAS - Federacion Espanola by Actividades Subacuaticas) in co-operation with Subfari Dive Center. Four days of training at the pool (static and dynamic apnea with monofin and bi-fins) and open sea (constant weight). A great team, a dream location ... a long way forward in this new world underwater silent!
TDI is the largest technical certification agency in the world. As one of the first agencies to provide training in mixed gas diving and rebreathers, TDI is seen as an innovator of new diving techniques and programs which previously were not available to the general public.
Between 20 and October 22, 2008, in Ibiza (Spain), the diving centers Nautitraccion Barcelona & GymSub Aigua Blava with logistic support of Ibiza Vellmari organized an intensive TDI Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures. Together with us attended the professionals of GEAS (Group of Actividades Subacuaticas Especiales) belonging to the Guardia Civil (Spain).
I had the great opportunity to dive, among other dive sites at Don Pedro, the¨newest" and largest wreck in the Mediterranean (accessible diving with compressed air), a 142 meters Ro-Ro sank on 11 September 2007 at a depth of 45mtrs at only 1 nautical mile away from the port of Ibiza.

TDI Basic Nitrox & Advanced Nitrox Instructor
Starting with May 2012, the following diving technical courses are available: TDI Basic Nitrox & Advanced Nitrox - the 1st step in the world of technical diving. Technical does not mean only "deeper" but "safer"! You'll learn to use the Oxygen up to 100%, to pay extra attention to your dive planning and diving gear... so you'll enjoy at the maximum the "silent" underwater World.

ANDI International (ANDI) is one of the world's fastest growing diver training agencies. ANDI began by specializing in training programs for Enriched Air Nitrox ( SafeAir ) diving. As a natural evolution from SafeAir®, ANDI developed training programs for what has now become known as Technical diving and Closed Circuit Rebreather systems. To meet the demands of our international network of training facilities, in 1999 ANDI introduced a unique methodology for training entry-level divers with the ANDI Open Water Sport Diver program.
Since our origin in 1988, ANDI has expanded throughout the world with Regional Headquarters located in the United Kingdom, Israel, Italy, Spain, ANDI Europe, Greece, Taiwan, Republic of Korea, Republic of Maldives, Republic of Philippines, South America, Middle East and the home office in the United States of America. To meet the needs of these regional markets ANDI developed educational material in many languages in addition to English.
ANDI has developed a multifaceted training system with comprehensive programs. These include Openwater Sport Diver, Dive Medic, SafeAir® User courses, Technical and Exploration programs, Rebreather training for SCR and CCR systems, specialty-focused training and a full offering of technician and instructor programs. ANDI’s growth throughout the world is due to ANDI's commitment to quality education, quality training materials, the highest operational standards and a dedication to customer service.
The Limited Safe Air User (LSU) Course is a Level 1 course that introduces divers to the use of Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN). The course lasts for 2 - 3 days including both theory and practical sessions. You will examine the advantages of Safe Air diving under the ANDI system of training. As part of the course you will examine key questions such as what is EAN? What are its advantages when diving? What special considerations are there when using EAN?
You will make two dives using Safe Air Nitrox with 32% oxygen and 36% oxygen. As part of the LSU course you will also see how Enriched Air Nitrox is produced, learn how to test the O2 content of your tank, program your computer for Nitrox use and find the Maximum operating depth and Equivalent Air Depth using ANDI’s MOD-EAD Chart.
The Complete Safe Air User (CSU) Course is a Level 2 course that extends the divers understanding of the use of Enriched Air Nitrox (EAN) and oxygen beyond that of the Level 1 LSU course. The course lasts for 2 - 3 days including both theory and practical sessions. Will extend your understanding of the use of Safe Air Nitrox. As part of the course you will learn how to apply key mathematical formulas for using EAN and oxygen in diving and you will examine the use of different gas mixture applications in dive planning.
Will make two dives using Safe Air Nitrox. The dives will be to a maximum depth of 40 metres dependent upon the divers level of certification. As part of the CSU course you will also examine rules for the use of Safe Air including the dispensing of gases, gas labelling and oxygen analysis.
The Level 3 TSD course is the entry- level course for technical diving, which will allow you to extend your diving beyond the normal recreational dive limits. The TSD course lasts for four days and includes both theory and open water sessions. Within the theory section of the course you will examine some fundamental aspects of technical diving including, decompression theory, different equipment configurations, gas switching and the use of different gases in dive planning.
Within the four open water sessions that are part of this course you will make dives using different equipment configurations and gas mixtures. Dives will be made using twin sets and stage tanks with a maximum of three cylinders and three different gas mixtures. The maximum depth of dives within the TSD course is 40m with a maximum decompression run time of 30 minutes.
In order to undertake this course you must be a CSU qualified diver with at least 50 logged dives.
The Level 3 TTM course is the entry-level course for tri-mix divers. It is essential for those divers whose aim is to become a technical or rebreather diver that would extend their diving into the explorer range.
The TTM course lasts for four days including both theory and open water sessions. Within the theory section of the course you will examine some fundamental aspects of tri-mix diving including decompression theory, equipment configurations, gas switching and the use of inert gases other than nitrogen in dive planning.
Within the four open water sessions of this course you will make dives using different equipment configurations and gas mixtures. Dives will be made using twin sets and stage tanks with a maximum of three cylinders and two different gas mixtures in addition to the bottom mix.
The maximum depth of dives within the TTM course is 50m with a maximum decompression run time of 45 minutes
The minimum O2 content in the bottom mix is not to be less than 16%
In order to undertake this course you must be a TSD qualified diver.
In October - November 2011, I obtained my license of Technical SafeAir Instructor (Technical Tri-Mix Diver) L3 si Tri-Mix Diver L5 under the prestigious technical diving agency ANDI International. The two weeks and half course took place in Lanzarote
(Canary Islands, Spain) with Rubicon Diving.
